Full Bio
Formed in 2022 in the heart of the Scottish Highlands, The Ramstampits are are a group of girls and guys who when put together in the same room, create an almighty punk rocking folky flavoured riot of fun.
They have created their own unique sound, a blend of all the music that has influenced their lives, to produce music with huge singalong choruses, almighty hooks, heartfelt lyrics and a brilliant variety of tunes ranging from dynamic powerful tracks to ballads, sea shanties, barnstorming foot tappers and beautiful acoustic tracks.
The band were recently told by a BBC Scotland presenter, Garry Innis, that he would not be surprised if the band became the Scottish version of The Pogues overnight, “that’s how good you are” he told the band.
To date the band have released two CD singles/EP’s, ‘Light The Beacon’ and ‘Stompin’ with the ‘Stampit’s’. with the tracks from Light The Beacon appearing on a split vinyl album in the Czech Republic as well as on their simply brilliant debut album, ‘For Land and Girls and Rum’ on Wild Colonial Records in both vinyl and CD format. The reviews for it have been quite superb with the band already receiving radio play on BBC Radio Scotland and other stations around Scotland as well as in the USA, Canada and Germany.
Despite only playing a handful of shows since inception, six of them have been at festivals. The biggest so far being the world famous Rebellion Festival in Blackpool where they drew a huge crowd despite being the opening act of the day. The band were invited back to Rebellion and played there for a second time in 2024.
